DanganRonpa: Prepare for Despair

"Goddammit. It's not going to kill us, it's going to help us figure a way out of here. You have to see that." he grabbed at her arm again, wishing that Julie was shorter. Her height gave her longer limbs and she was doing well keeping the remote away from him. He dodn't want to hurt her though so he was holding back a little.

Liam banged on the gate. "God damn it," he swore. He ran for the auditorium as fast as he could. The surveillance room was his only chance to get up there. He grabbed Devin on the way. "I'll need your help."

"Gah!"

" How would you know that?" she kept pulling away from him, " You think you know everything! That it's so simple and easy! That everything will be fine! Please just let go! "

"Not until you hand over the controller. If it gets that bad then I'll kill myself, ok, I won't exact revenge or whatever it is you're scared of, I'll just end it. Just give me the damn controller."Felix tightened his grip on her arm and pulled it towards him once more.

Julie yanked one her arms free and grabbed the control out of the other hand. She looked at Felix and he was able to see everything. The fear in her eyes. The hurt. The anger. She screamed as she brought the control down, swinging for him. The console landed on the side of his head with a loud thud, before there was silence. Felix still sat upright for a moment, as if processing what had just happened before falling over to the side, face down on the floor.

Julie crawled back away from him, watching him. She wasn't getting close to him in case this was a trick to catch her off guard. She only approached him once she saw blood dripping onto the floor. " Fuck, Fuck, fuck. " she moved closer to him and flipped him over, " Check for a pulse, open the airways." hid chest was still moving. She opened his jaw hopefully making it easier for him to breathe. He coughed, making her jump. She stood up and ran to the Art Room, grabbing a piece of canvas and some tape that she had managed to find. She went back to Felix and applied pressure to the wound with the cloth. " This wasn't supposed to happen. " she whispered, as she used the tape to attach the cloth to his head, " This is the best I can do now. I'm sorry." she stood up and pressed the button to open the third floor gates. She waited for one of the other kids to come find her.

Felix remained on the ground, still unconscious. He was remembering (dreaming?) about different times, times when he was still little and his brothers still played with him. He remembered playing with his sister. He remembered Katie's broken body lying on the bed in hospital. He remembered Nadine lying with her head smashed in, he remembered Chris, Alann, Lys, Leit and Heather. He was only unconscious for a few minutes but it felt like an eternity. Coming back to the real world he sat up and vomited to his side. The images flashed in his mind again and he brought up more bile. He took deep breaths through his mouth and wiped at it with a shaking hand.

"Wait!" Devin stopped, yanking Liam to a halt. "Hear that?"

"No."

"The gate, it's opening."

They both rushed up to find the scene of Felix and Julie's fight.

Devin rushed over to Felix's side and helped support him. "You okay?"

Liam was about to do the same, but was outpaced by his quiet companion. Instead he started toward Julie. "What happened?"

Felix nodded and immediately regretted it. He winced as his head began to throb and he took a few shallow breaths through his nose. "Wouldn't sit there, feel like 'm gonna hurl again." he mumbled.

Julie stared silently at Liam. She turned around and walked into the principals office, " It was an accident. But you probably don't believe that." she turned around, " He can tell you the rest." she showed Liam the device in her hand, before grabbing the doors, See ya." she closed the doors behind her.

Liam stuck his foot in the door again. "Julie, it's alright, come out," he said softly. "I'm sorry I accused you of working for the bear... If you were, you wouldn't have bandaged Felix up."

Devin scooted around behind Felix instead. "Being knocked out sucks."

"Mm," Felix agreed. After a few more breaths, he risked opening his eyes again. The world was still spinning slightly but it was easier to focus on stuff now. "By the way," Felix said as he tried to remain awake. "Who are you?"

Devin stared blankly at him. "Not funny." Memory loss was rare enough as it was, and memory loss of the past even rarer. He didn't know the exact statistics, but he wasn't going to buy it happening now.

"Not trying to be," Felix muttered. "Kinda looks like I'm in school. Did I get into a fight or something?"

"...If you're sorry. And you trust me, then you'll move your foot. I won't be long." she said, with her face still turned down.

Liam gave a long sigh. "Alright." Against his better judgment, he removed his foot.

Julie exhaled through her nose and gave a little nod as she closed the doors.

Devin stared at him for a few more seconds, then shrugged. "Yeah."

"Was it with you?" Felix asked beginning to look a little wary.

Devin shook his head. "Julie. She just..." he looked at the door and his brow furrowed. "You let her in?"

Liam sighed. "If she was working for the bear, she would have killed Felix."

"I got beat up by a girl?" Felix groaned and dropped his head into his hands. "Wait, killed me?" he asked looking at Liam. "What sort of psycho is she?"

"Not one," Liam answered. "But we're dealing with psychos here." He frowned and leaned against the wall, unsure of what to do now.

"And yes you got beat by a girl. She was bigger than you though. Believe me, I've been there before." Devin added with a smirk.

"Mm." Devin grunted. "There isn't one. Not yet."

Felix stared blankly at Devin. "What?" he asked. "Well how did we get in here? Through the ceiling?"
