Party Regrouping (Current Location: Clock Town) Thread 7: Rip

Ever since the first night Leighi had barely slept, in the middle of that night his blade pointed him towards a group of small demons coming closer and closer. Without thinking he grabbed blade and went out, leaving the group behind. Normally with demons of that level he wouldn't have a problem slaying them within a few hours, however this time they easily overtook him. Using their claws, fangs and weapons to hurt him, only when the sun came up they stopped and left him alone.

With his mind at it's limit and his body with many bruises, cuts and broken bones, he just laid in Termina field not moving a muscle, barely breathing. After a few hours, his body started to feel weaker and weaker and he knew that he had to do something. He struggled to get up for a few minutes but quickly noticed that by trying to struggle to get up his wounds just got worse and worse, so he quickly gave up on that. He tried to focus his mind on his magic and tried to heal his legs, while his mind was still a mess from his training he knew that the first thing he needed to do was make sure he could move. While his magic wasn't very effective it at least helped to take away the pain a bit from his legs and close the deepest wounds a bit allowing him to at least stand and slowly walk. Leighi was now relying purely on his training, he slowly rose from the ground and stumbled towards the gates of Clock town and looked for a doctor.

After Leighi stumbled around in Clock town for what seemed hours on end he finally found a doctor, as soon as he stepped in he fainted on the spot only to wake up in a bed. Not knowing how he got in this bed, Leighi tried to remember what he could remember. 'I went to snowfall to defeat a creature which had a mask with a group of people, someone died afterwards, then we returned to clock town although I dont remember much from the trip back. I was exausted when I arrived here and fell asleep without a word, then... no I can't remember.' He tried to get out of the bed but noticed that most of his body was covered in bandages and it was hard to move. A nurse came inside and noticed that Leighi was awake now. "Oh, thank the Giants. I thought you'd never wake up, you were in a terrible shape when you stepped in. I'm amazed that you even survived all of those, almost your entire body was covered in wounds. I must say the doctor did quite an amazing job to leave that little scars." Leighi looked surprised he didn't remember ever getting that beat up nor receiving this many wounds from fighting. "Uhm... if you don't mind me asking, how long have I been in this condition?"
"About 4 days now, also no matter how injured you are, we are expecting you to pay for everything we've done for you. If you cannot pay I'm afraid we would have to remove you from this room and find ways to earn that money for us."
Leighi sighed, he had no choice. He just hoped he had enough money to at least cover half of what they were going to ask. "How much do I currently owe you?"
"I'd have to check with the doctor to be exact but a rough estimate would be around 1,500 rupees. I'm going now to confirm it, I'll be back shortly."

After the nurse left the room Leighi's head started to slowly become clearer and started to remember what happened 3 days ago. He knew he didn't have that amount of money, he had 200 at most if that wasn't taken away from him already by a person or the demons that he lost against. Although everything seemed going badly for him, he at least was glad that thanks to this incident his mind was clear again and he recovered a bit from what happened. He tested how much he had recovered and tried healing himself again this time, due to the rest his body had gotten and the work the doctor had preformed it seemed that healing his injuries was easier now. Although it still hurt to move his body he knew it had to be done, with pain he slowly moved his right hand over his left arm and a white light shone over his arm as the injuries started to recover. Leighi's face became pale and he tried to keep from screaming, his healing was nothing more than a very sped up recovery of the area he healed and thus there was pain involved. Although the pain was rather short, it did prevent Leighi from continuing the healing process, he was glad though that he at least was able to heal one of his arms.

The nurse walked back into the room. "The doctor said that it'd 1632 rupees in total, I hope you have that on you, otherwise we'll have to figure something out."
Leighi looked around and saw his pouch laying on the ground, next to his cloak. "If I'm correct there should only be around 200 rupees in my pouch. However that's all I have. will have to come to a agreement for the rest."
Well, that's easy then. You'll be working for us until your debt has been paid. Once you're healed up, you can discuss it with the doctor. The nurse walked towards the pouch and took 184 rupees from the pouch.
Leighi smiled, he had to solve this as soon as possible. "Tell the doctor I'll be with him within an hour."
An hour?! Are you insane, look at your body you're not even in a position to sit up, let alone walk. There is no way I'll tell him you will meet him within an hour. Just take it easy and rest up. Afterwards we'll deal with the money you owe us."
Leighi moved his left arm over his right arm this time, and started healing it, trying not to make a sound. He didn't trust it here, if he suddenly screamed who know what might happen. After a few minutes he also was done with his other arm, he noticed that the edge of his vision started to become black and quickly linked it to the pain that the healing caused him, but he had no choice he had to return to the inn and hope the group didn't leave yet. He hovered both his hands over his chest and started to heal his wounds and bones, the pain was nearly unbearable but he held on. Afterwards his entire body was covered in sweat, he had never preformed healing magic so many times in a row. The fact that he was healing himself which caused him pain which exhausted his stamina even quicker. He quickly started to drift off and fell asleep.

When Leighi woke up he noticed that the sun almost didn't move so he assumed he slept for an entire day seeing how his exhaustion and pain were entirely gone. He inspected his body and it seemed that his arms and torso were completely healed while his legs still were in terrible shape. After going to the horrible experience of healing them he waited until the pain was mostly gone and got out of the bed and started dressing himself again and noticed that his blade was missing. He walked to the front desk. Uhm, hello? I was wondering if someone has seen my blade.The nurse from yesterday answered Leighi. We took it as collateral, you know to make sure you pay and work for us. However what I'm more surprised about is how quickly you recovered from your injuries, you aren't from another race now are you!?
Leighi clearly heard the tone of her voice and knew he had to lie to prevent things from escalating. "No, I'm able to speed up the healing process of bodies by a lot while it hurts a lot it helps for quick natural recoveries. Anyway I'd like to meet the doctor now, I'm sure I can come to an agreement with him. So could you tell me where his office is?" Sure, follow me. The nurse walked back into the hallway and went up the stairs and stopped in front of a wooden door and knocked on it 2 times. A low voice was heard from inside Come in. Please wait here, until I tell you to come in. Leighi started staring at the ceiling thinking how long this could possibly take, a few minutes later the door opened and the nurse said that he could come in.


Leighi stepped into the office, which was rather small just a desk and a single bookcase. At the desk there was an older men who's short black hair started becoming grey and there were places that clearly showed that he was getting bald. He looked at Leighi and gestured to the chair across the desk. "Please, do sit down." Leighi calmly walked to the chair and sat down. "If I understand correctly you don't have enough money to pay for the operation and the time you were unconscious. What about this, I heard from her that you are able to use magic, healing magic in particular. You'll work for me for a month and we'll call it even and you'll get your blade back. That seems fair right?"
"Under normal circumstances I'd completely agree with you sir. However currently I am unable to repay my debt to you, because I have another job to do which takes priority above this for which I need my blade. So here is what I offer you, until I can repay you. I will work for you once in the month, every month no matter what and right now I'll heal all the patients you currently have in the hospital. I guess if you play it right you could even ask double or triple of what you normally ask because of the speed of the recovery.
"Hmm... I'd love to agree with you here kid, but there is no way I can. If I give you your blade back with just the promise that you'll stop by once a month, it's the same as giving your blade back and just letting you go. You understand what I'm saying right?
Leighi sighed "Of course I do, but this really takes priority over everything else. I really need that blade. Leighi thought about what he knew and what could possibly save him from this situation. He realized the truth might be the best option Sir, have you ever heard of the Sheikah clan""No I have not. Why are you suddenly asking?""The sheikah are people who have trained to keep the royal family of hyrule sage and keep demons at bay and learn how to help those who are plagued by them from the moment they can barely hold a weapon. They are taught everything they need to know, from how to fight against demons to how to treat those possessed by a demon. Although their technology isn't as advanced as you have here, I'm sure they have cures and medicine for diseases you are trying to find a cure for."  
"SO?! Are you mocking me! Do you really think you can win me over with a little story about a tribe no one heard about and supposedly have medical skills above someone who has studied for it and been in that field his entire life?"
Leighi was surprised by the sudden outburst, sure he expected some kind of negative reaction, however nothing this major. He sighed, it seemed he had no choice. No, Sir. I wasn't mocking you, nor did I think I could win you over with a story. This was all leading up to my deal. The reason why I started about it was because I am from that tribe. I am willing to write a book about all my knowledge of Medicine that I learned from my clan for you. If there even is a single treatment in the book that you aren't familiar with, will you take that book as collateral instead of my blade. Concidering they are the ancient ways only known to my tribe I'm sure you know I don't want them known the the public. So if I skip one month of service without letting you know that I am unable to come due to circumstances not within my power you can concider that book yours, and you can do with it whatever you desire, even publish it. Do you think this is a good deal?
The man started thinking about the possibilities and if there was a chance there might be information in the book he didn't know about. "Okay, that's a deal. When you've written the book, give it to me and I'll look th-"A soft thud was heard as Leighi threw a book on the desk. The doctor looked at it and then back at Leighi.
I always carry it around me, in case I forgot a certain treatment. You can never be too careful. After the Doctor opened it on a random page and started reading in it a bit he quickly realised that while most of the things that were written in this book wasn't normal knowledge of medicine but a detailed guide how to make potions which helped healing and which herbs healed what illnesses. "Fine, I'll accept this." He reached under the desk and took out Leighi's blade and put it on the table. Don't forget, once every month otherwise that book is mine.
"I know" Leighi handed over the book and took his blade and left after healing all the patients.
