Chaos' party: Thread 6.1

around the corner Darem could see one of the Stal children had fallen over and lost one of its toes. The one with the mask was still running down the hall and quickly darted down another dark passage.

Chaos and Fist caught up and looked down the hallway. "Keep moving! We have to catch that thing!" Chaos shouted as he ran down the hall.

"What the hell are skeletons gonna do with a mask anyways?" Fist remarked as she followed

"Hopefully not put it on." Jillian answered.

Darem took a few steps back and angled himself with the hall way at a diagonal. He started off running and rolled up, speeding down the hallway. He unrolled himself as he reached the wall, turning in the air to change the angle, before rolling back up. He scraped against the wall for a second before taking off again in the new direction, unfurling as he reached the far wall on the other side.

Darem led the charge following the boney thief down more corridors. Suddenly one turn had something stop him in his tracks with a loud thud. In the next moment he was thrust backwards into the hall he came from. A larger skeleton stood before him with a more menacing face. It brandished a towering shield and a sword. It wore large shoulder pads and a helmet on its skull as it blocked his path with a deep otherworldly growl

Darem lept back up and rolled his shoulders back, "Think you're scary? I've seen you stalfos every day for eight years now. And if I can kill one," He took a few steps back, "I can kill em all!" He rolled up and charged at the creature. Using the same technique as in the tower, he pushed off the ground and jumped into the air, before rolling back up and aiming for the skeleton's face.

Darem's jumping punch caught the stalfos off guard as it took a rough hit to the face. It staggered back before recomposing with its shield held up. It banged its sword against it and charged at Darem who barely managed to avoid a sword to the face.

Darem jumped back from the sword, but met the shield with both of his hands and pushed back against it, "Yer nothin' but a...pile of bones...It's all about the muscle." He jeered.

With unbelievable force, Darem ripped the shield (as well as the arm) of the stalfos right off. It staggered forward and slashed again, missing horribly as it shambled and fell on its knee

Darem laughed loudly as he held the shield up. "You can have it back!" He yelled as he brought the shield crashing down on the head of the Stalfos.

With a loud clang the shield came down on the stalfos' head and it collapsed on the ground down for the count. At this point the group caught up with Darem. "Wow nice job." Fist said as she looked at the undead guard on the ground. "You made quick work of that guy."

Darem laughed triumphantly as the group rounded the corner, "Knew it was just showin' off." He gave everyone a big grin, "Now let's go get that mask!"

"Nice work!" Jillian complemented without breaking a stride. She ran around the body of the stalfos to catch up to the little one with the mask.

Darem took a few steps back before running and rolling, the adrenaline making him faster than before. He rolled past Jillian, "Meetcha there!"

It wasn't long until Darem came upon two more stalfos who immediately took notice of his intrusion with glowing eyes and began walking towards him with shields raised

As the rest of the group worked to keep up, another stalfos came out from a side passage swinging. Chaos barely managed to avoid losing a limb by diving forward. The stalfos was about to turn to Chaos before noticing the metal fist flying towards him. He raised his shield in time to block the swing and push Fist back. "We'll take care of this one! Keep chasing and we'll catch up." Fist suggested as she got into fighting stance.

The last thing Chaos wanted was everyone splitting up in a place like this, but they couldn't let that mask get away after all this. he nodded. "Stay safe and turn back if you need to. Start marking where you've been..." He said as he reached for his bag only to realize he'd left it by where he'd slept in the rush to get the mask back. How could he make such an error at a time like this. He turned away from his companions to chase after Darem and as he turned a corner he slammed the mace coated in energy into the wall to make a little smokey dent to keep track of where he'd been and kept moving.

Darem kept rolling, crashing into the shield of one of them, hoping to make it lose balance.

The stalfos saw this attack coming and prepared its stance to take the hit. The second stalfos swung his sword down on Darem's curled form. The sword's blow was mostly absorbed by the rocks on his back, but it chipped through enough to leave a scratch

Darem rolled back and uncurled himself. "Finally! A challenge!" He stepped back and rolled up to charge at one. Before he hit it, he turned on his side and unfurled, aiming for its knee joints with the back of his leg.

The stalfos barely flung its shield in the way of the kick before the blow connected. He hobbled back a few steps and raised his sword again. The other stalfos took its turn swinging down at the Darem who managed to tumble out of the way just in time to avoid the blade that clanged against the ground.

Darem stood up before charging at the one that he hadn't hit, winding up his right arm for a punch. A few steps before he made it to the skeleton, he jumped to the side, hitting the other one in the head with his elbow.

The stalfos got the edge of its shield to block the elbow elbow. It stumbled from the surprise attack and uneven hit to the shield but remained relatively unharmed. As before, the other stalfos took a shot at attacking. Its sword connected and scraped Darem's arm.

Amongst the fighting the faint sound of metal boots came from behind. A third stalfos had heard the fight and decided to join in.

Darem jumped back after the attack. He turned and looked toward the third one, "Damn..." He muttered. He looked between the stalofos, before he rolled up and rolled past the lone skeleton. As he passed it up, Darem uncurled himself and pushed off the ground with his hands before curling up again, hoping to bowl over the creature before it turned around

The stalfos blocking the way completely failed to see darem roll past him and even got slammed to the side as he rolled by. Darem charged at the stalfos, but missed his the stalfos hopped back and the blow connected with the wall.

The other two stalfos came forward to join the third as they raised their shields to form a wall.

Behind him, Darem heard lighter footsteps coming in fast from behind. They were definitely not the same as the large heavy strides of the stalfos.

Darem didn't turn his back to stalfos, taking small steps back as he yelled out, "Is that you, guys? Only hear one of ya..."

One of the stalfos stabbed forward, but wasn't close enough for the stab to connect. The three slowly marched forward together.

From behind Chaos came out of the shadows with the mace in his hand and stopped next to Darem. "The others got held up but they'll hopefully join us shortly." He looked at the boney wall in front of them and raised his mace. "You seem to have drawn a crowd." he said as he looked into the glowing eyes of the skeletons.

"Don't I always." Darem muttered to himself as he watched the stalfos. "I can get ya a lift over them if ya wanna keep chasing. Or we could take em out. Yer call."
