Ruul's ZRP Party: Thread 6.2

"If Jaruzak comes back empty-handed, I'm going to skin him and make a suit out of his scales," he said bluntly, still staring at the receding dot of the flying duo.

"I'm sure everything will be fine, Fist's there so she can convince Kowen that Jaruzak's not gonna off her if he gets the chance."

"That's what I'm hoping."

"I wonder what went down though that Kowen wouldn't trust him. Must have been something serious."

"Maybe she's jus' scared of heights." Darem commented.

"Being scared of heights hardly sounds complicated." Kairo said. "I mean, I know I don't like her all that much but she's still just a kid. They shouldn't have left her there alone. She doesn't even know how to fight. She's a healer and not much else."

"I dunno. But whatever the reason, both parties needta get over it. There are problems bigger than them at the moment."

"True," Ruul agreed. "But we aren't forcing them to stay, either."

"Well, Kowen said the Runes led her to us. Maybe she feels like she can't leave."

"True. Well either way, we'll make sure this is all resolved once the party is back together."

"Runes? Huh?" Darem looked back at Kairo quizzically.

Yeah, they're little stones with the runic alphabet on them. She uses them to tell the future or something." He paused for a moment. "She called herself the Rune Medium for her people. I'm guessing that means that she's someone who tells everyone what to do in her village. Pretty cool for a kid I'd say."

"Tha's a pretty big burden fer a kid." Darem turned back and kept walking, "She maybe tougher than ya think."

"Yeah, but she's not a fighter. She was brought up sheltered. She was telling me about it on the boat back to Termina. She rarely saw anyone outside of immediate family until she turned 16 and shortly after, she said the runes told her to travel. She can heal and that's about it."

"Er. If ya believe in runes 'n the such, then they wouldn't lead 'er astray right?" He swung his hammer around, moving his stiff arms around, "An oracle should would know whether ta stay er go."

"Well she hasn't been wrong so far. Not that I know of anyway." He looked up to see if Ruul or Calcifer were listening. Droppiong his voice to a whisper he said,"she said Aero's runes predicted danger and we assumed that was just because of what we were doing but no one else's had mentioned it. That's a hell of a guess, don't you think?"

Darem nodded, not wanting to bring the subject up again.

"Oracle..." Ruul mused. "I wonder if she'd be more willing to return if a fellow Oracle had gone." He glanced back towards the swamp. "Dammit Jaruzak..."

"Fist'll knock some sense into the both of em!" Darem turned and grinned at Ruul, "Don'tcha worry."

"Sounds good," Ruul said with a small grin.

Calcifer's demenor turned sour when Aero was mentioned.
He looked down, to the side, bodly language conveying someone who was receding into themselves, but in an almost apologetic way. He had nothing to say.
