Ok, a mate of mine has asked me this this question, and me not knowing it has decided to ask all of you at fourth day;

Why so many men aged 15 to 30 like My Little Pony?

Probably simply because it's viral. I really can't figure out why I like it. I just do.

This is the closest thing to an answer I got. Although I myself am starting to get rather annoyed with it seeing as though I can't go anywhere on my computer without a damn pony reference staring me in the face. Although another factor might be it's creator making Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, two shows I thought were pretty good. Ponies however, just not for me.

I thought about it a little more.

I find it's a good source of entertainment when I have nothing better to do, to be honest. And as of yet, there's only been one episode that I genuinely didn't like. The idealism in that one was a little too much.

Maybe the idealism in that show balances my general realistic/cynical outlook on life.

Its a childrens show thats well written. The dialogue is witty the characters are well rounded and the animation is impressive. Very few childrens shows today stand up. When a childrens show does try to include adults I find I'm dissapointed when they do so by throwing in cheap adult humor to try and get laughs. MLP however is entertaining to young girls without being gaggingly stupid for adults, without being overly girly to represent how womens roles have changed and little girls can be who they want to be, and without throwing in cringe-worthy adult humor (such as oddly placed and slightly averted sex jokes ive seen in far to many other childrens shows). It's a show that parents can watch with their children and actually enjoy themselves while doing so. I know my uncle (who is in his thirties) enjoys watching it with his own young daughters.
