Ruul's ZRP Party: Thread 6.2

"Only a bit left, why?" He rummaged through his bag. "Lemme wipe my hands off," he muttered, soiling a few cloths that were probably some clothes he needed to clean anyways. He shook out a thinning roll of bandages and held them out. "Yeah, here, why?" he asked again, just before catching sight of the little mouse. He stepped forward, shadowing over the Goron, craning over to get a better look. He blinked.

Kairo skidded on the mud as he approached Calcifer and Darem, barely managing to stay on his feet. "Whatcha looking at?" he asked.

the squirrel extended its nose out towards calcifer and sniffed curiously. It sat up with its head tilting to the side.

Darem reached out for the bandages and nodded in appreciation. He put the end of the roll in between his teeth and pulled on the roll with his free hand. "This girl 'urt 'er paw." He explained between clenched teeth. He sat the creature on his shoulder and tore off a just a little of the bandage, before wrapping it around her paw. "Theeeere we go. Not too shabby considerin' I did most of it wi-" he stopped when he saw Calcifer staring at it, and took a step back. He obstructed Cal's view by covering the creature with his hands, protectively, "No. This one's not fer eatin'."

"What? No," he laughed at the suggestion. "It's curious, isn't it?"

"How'd you know it's a girl?" Kairo asked as he tilted his head to one side to look at the creature from a different angle. "Could be a boy, you could have just insulted it."

Calcifer glanced over at Kairo, his eyebrows furrowing as if to say, really?. He almost chuckled.

Ruul caught up, slowing down as he saw the two Gieru slip in the mud. "What do you have there, Darem?"

"It's a mouse-y, squirrel-y thing and he just insulted it," Kairo said.

The squirrel inspected the bandage around its arm and looked up at the growing amount of large people around it skeptically.

"Never mind that. Does it understand us? Entiende?"

Darem lowered his hands, "...Do these animals normally understand things like that?" Darem looked at the creature, "And I looked over it for wounds. Pretty sure I know the difference between a boy 'n a girl."

Kairo tutted loudly. "*mumblegrumble* spoil my fun *grumblemumble*"

"No, but I figured it was special since you bothered to use my bandages on it."

Darem rubbed the back of his head, "I uh...just wanted to help it." He grinned, "They should have somewhere that sells me in clock town, yeah? I can getcha more while we're there if ya want."

after looking over the party, the creature turned again towards the swamp. Hearing the mention of the town, it tapped Darem's shoulder and looked back in the direction of the town.

Darem looked towards where the squirrel looked, "Huh? Why d'ya wanna go that way?" He frowned, "Yer bright and orange. Y'should probably not walk into a field where somethin' can see ya." Darem scratched his head, "I can bring ya there, but we kinda have somethin' to do here first..."

"Y'know you can't keep it, right?" Kairo said. "We're meant to be saving the world. Ain't none of us got time for a squirrel-mouse-thing that may or may not be insulted." He glanced at Calicifer, grinning slightly.

"If'n she wants to stay, she can stay. 'Sides, she's goin' the same way we are after we're done here. Can't hurt." Darem crossed his arms.

"Yeah but... But... We're kinda caught up in the middle of a war. Ain't no place for a mouse squirrel thing."

"We have people protectin' the two young ones, yeah? Then I'm sure I can take care o' this one." Daren smiled at the creature.

Almost in defiance the squirrel plopped down on Darem's shoulder and stuck its nose up at Kairo.

"Haha! See! She even knows tricks!"

Ruul scratched his head, not sure what to make of any of this.

Darem smiled at everyone, "C'moooooooo-ooon...pleeeeeeeease? I'll even letchu guys name 'er!"
