Name: Rayo
Occupation: Freelance Bounty Hunter
Personality: Follows his own ideals. Protective of those he views as innocent. Fights with honor.
Appearance: Tall with black hair. Usually wears a trench coat that covers up his mini-arsenal. Underneath, he wears a stealth suit with what would looks like a utility belt. On his back is strapped a large claymore with many ornate gems in the hilt.
Gear:
Two metal gauntlets that he wears at all times. In the wrist of these gauntlets are two hidden blades about 6 inches wide and about one and half feet long. He can extend and retract them at will.
An ornate silver sword which was crafted with a secret smithing method passed down in his clan. The sword has anti-magic properties and can take on magic of any level.
The claymore on his back has 4 gems on it. There is one on the left and right of the hilt and one just below the blade. In the center of these is a single clear gem. The clear gem can be moved to touch any of these other gems. Going from left to right, there is a red, green, and yellow gem. Depending on the gem determines the properties of the sword. It is just a big sword when set to the middle position.
The final weapon in his arsenal is a repeating crossbow. It has a capacity of 5 bolts and has been modified for quick reloading used the 6 loaders on his belt. He has two types of ammunition, silver antimagic bolts and standard iron bolt. He carries 3 of each type in the loaders and many more in his backpack.
He also has a tendency to visit inventors in towns he visits to find new tools he can use in the hunt. If possible, he learns how to make them and compiles them in a journal he keeps in his bag.
Backstory
- Spoiler:
Rayo was raised in a clan of bounty hunters. This clan is internationally recognised and has a special license to operate in any country. They have done work ranging from mercenaries to simple bodygaurds. Their warriors are trained from a young age in the arts of the hunt. Having no magic of their own, they have had to adapt their tactics and weapons. One of these adaptations includes the anti-magic silver they use in their weapons. Rayo was a prodigy in his age group and quickly rose through the ranks of the hunters. On one of his missions, he was teamed up with 4 others to take down a power swordsman and a camp of bandits under his command. The initial strike went according to plan and the bandits fell easily. What they didn't count on was the targets prowess. Not only was he as trained as the rest of them, but he wielded the same claymore that Rayo possesses. Shortly after his appearance, he had killed the other 4 hunters leaving just him and Rayo. Using some unorthodox tactics and some of those strange inventions he has always loved, Rayo killed the swordsman and took his blade as a trophy. He returned to his people not as a hero but as a failure. He had been the one to lead his group and had lost his whole squad. He was cast out of his village and told never to return. He was allowed to keep his gear and his bounty hunter pass. He now wanders alone collecting bounties and accepting other work contracts.
