| If the Fourth Day had an island to itself, Wind Waker-style, what would it be like, and what would be on it? | |

| It's about Zelda games... I dunno, it could fit here, in General Discussion or Forum Discussion really. And those islands really aren't big enough for multiple climates. | |

| Sounds good. Our Australian friends might freeze, though, but they can stay inside huddled up next to the fire until they get used to it. | |

| Because we're actual people and not polygons we need food and other things to help sustain such a living. Part of the island would have to be farmland and the other part would be a small town where we each had our own houses. We'd have to live close enough to ferry to the mainland when we needed anything we couldn't produce ourselves and also (this is where the town part comes in) ferry people over in order to take advantage of the tourist industry. Businesses like a hotel, restaurant, fishing boat, canoe and kayak rentals, bike rentals for riding on wooded trails and a nature center would be crucial attractions to get non-locals onto the island but if we as a group own the land of said island we would be able to keep the population of the island down to reduce annoying neighbors. Another good form of business would be rental cottages for extended to seasonal residents but those would be built on the opposite side of town from the local owners homes. Not only would we have a sustainable source of living but also a steady income and connections with the mainland while keeping the island itself from being overcrowded, this would ensure a safe but exciting and well rounded environment for families to raise children in and keep close to great neighbors. | |

| J, that isn't Wind Waker-style at all. Making Cat the mayor and sticking his house on top of a big rock sounds totally feasible, though. | |

| If he wasn't the only one he'd still be the best. Also Wind Waker style isn't really a sustainable way to live because this world isn't Wind Waker. | |

| I dunno. They had pigs and other plants on the islands. I would say that that's still a sustainable way of life. Also on the islands, what would we really need that we couldn't get from ours? We could have a Great Fairy spring for health care, we would have shelter and food, and we would work together to make the island habitable. With Cat as the Mayor, he could delegate tasks and we'd function well. I'd think something like Outset Island but bigger and maybe a little more city-like. It'd still have a forest, and maybe a cave or two, so there'd still be things to explore, but the more urban part of it would have us function better as a community and focus on everyone's strengths. And Cat'll probably get his big boat cause why not, so if we ever do need to go somewhere else to get something, it won't be too difficult. I'd say that we would do better than just surviving as long as the pirates around weren't too aggressive or demanding. | |

| By Wind Waker-style, I mean if we were actually in that universe.
I was thinking it could be loosely Majora's Mask shaped, with the majority of the houses on one of the heart-shape's upper bumps, with a port in between the two. The southern half could be mostly forest, and the other bump could be flat land with some purpose.

You both basically said the same thing. Why could we not expand the tiny village to accommodate a B&B or something too??
