DanganRonpa: Prepare for Despair

~Prologue~

"The Academy of Hope," was what it was called by most. A school to take in the most talented and unique teenagers in the country to better prepare them for the world. More like to hand them success at an early age; the academy was said to guarantee success in one's chosen field. Students who were invited to attend were given everything needed to be successful in life. From mathematicians, to athletes, to business leaders; the people who attended the school were given the opportunity to lead their lives and profession to greater heights. The invitations to this years students were sent out across the nation, and all of them face this opportunity filled with hope.

All of the student's experience with the school was the same. They traveled from all around the country to the school on the day of the opening. Several rushed in, ready to face the challenge while some stood back and mentally prepared themselves before entering the school. But all was met with darkness.

The first one to wake was Julie Piers. She awoke abruptly, and stood up quickly out of her seat. She was in a large, dim room with rows upon rows of chairs, leading up to a stage. Above her there hung rows of lights focusing on different areas of the stage, as well as a catwalk to adjust the lights. "A...a theatre..?" she whispered as she kept looking. She noticed the other students slumped over, fast asleep. She took note of them and their appearances. "11...11 other students." She finally sat back down and leaned her head back, waiting for the others to wake up. What was going on? How had she suddenly showed up in an auditorium? Something felt wrong to her, and she intended to get to the bottom of it.

(OOC: Hello everyone! It's time to start the RP! So first off I'll note the dialogue color. If you haven't realized it yet, this RP is going to be reaaaaally heavy with dialogue so to help sort it out, each character will need to have a color associated with them. This will help in the investigation/Class Trial so that you can dig through who said what and come to a conclusion on whether someone let something slip or not. And if you forget which character color is which, I'll be posting them in my signature so you can see who's who. Also, if you didn't come to the conclusion that this school would have a theatre then you probably didn't think too hard about it :P)

Lys opened her eyes slowly. As she sat up she let out a long yawn and stretched her arms above her head. Then she remembered that she had come to school and blacked out. She looked around. Someone had moved her to the auditorium along with a few other students. Apparently others had blacked out. She looked around. There was one student already awake.

"Hey, hi, hellooooo" she said while waving her arm to get the other girl's attention. "What's going on here?"

Chris sat up,and opened his eyes slowly feeling groggy from his uncomfortable rest. He looked around and noticed people, they were all sleeping except for two others so he decided to go over to them, he walked over to Julie and said, "Hey, you look lost, can I help?

"Oh, oh, do you know why we're here?" Lys asked, turning in her seat to face the others properly

Julie kept her eyes on the stage, "You can't assume we're in the school anymore. I'd say I'm less lost than you are." She looked up at him, "Help yourself before you try to help others. The helpless can't help." She glanced over at Lys. "We'll figure out soon enough, won't we?" She looked back towards the stage. Someone was setting something up, that much was certain. A lot of the lights were focused on the center of the stage. Meaning that someone was planning a big appearance.

"Mm, yes, this is peculiar," came the voice of a sharply-dressed youth who was in the process of getting up. He seemed completely calm, despite the strange situation.

On the far side of the room, another was getting up. A short-haired young man wearing a sea captain's hat that looked out of place on his otherwise plain attire. He said nothing as he approached the others.

(DEVIN GATES: Duper Duper High School Level Singer. Color: #33cc33)

(OOC: Don't worry about making introductions yet. There'll be introductions after everyone's awake.)

"Ah! Mon dieu!" Leit sprang up from his resting spot. His eyes darted around the large room. It only took him a few moments to calm himself, and he smiled, muttering to himself about the architecture. "Elegant, no, exquisite. Maybe a better word... Enchanting. Definitely an 'e-ring' to it, something a 'curvy' word, but not bright,"
It took him a bit to notice the other people in the room. "Oh," He looked at them, doe-eyed, the sleeping bodies around him and then the ones standing away. He just looked and for now didn't move.

Felix kept his eyes closed for a long time after he woke. He had yet to recognise any of the voices he heard and in all honesty he had been enjoying his nap. Sighing, he lifted his head off the desk to let hang back. Still he kept his eyes closed. The voices were echoing slightly and one of them had mentioned an auditorium, so that made sense. He figured he wouldn't be able to get much more without opening his eyes.

He looked around, first at the stage then to the students standing off to the side and finally to the others, slumped over, asleep. As he had thought, nobody looked familiar to him at all. He stood up and stretched the kinks out of his back and neck before turning back to the others.

One girl, a blonde, was looking between him and a few of the others.

Lys decided she couldn't stay quiet much longer.

"Hi!!!" She said, her voice full of enthusiasm as she waved at the others who had woken

Felix almost stumbled backward at her enthusiasm. "Er... hi," he mumbled, his eyes cast downward as she looked at him.

(OOC: Felix is 339966)

Alex sat up looked around to get the feel of this unfamiliar then stood and turned to face the others. He then, trying to hide his drowsiness walked over to join the conversation. and waited to be addressed directly.

Nadine jumped awake, surprised by several voices that had finally convinced her they were /not/ part of some dream she was having and that she should probably be awake for whoever was talking. "BAAAAAAAAH! I DIDN'T MEAN TO SLEEP THROUGH THE FIRST CLASS, I'M SO SORRY! I WAS SO EXCITED I COULDN'T SLEEP LAST NI-" She stopped and looked around before standing up and seeing everyone else in the room. ""This doesn't look like a classroom, what's going on here?"

Alicia stirred awake by some frantic yelling and sat calmly and quietly. Wherever she was, she didn't put herself there, and the longer she could pull off pretending to be asleep the more she might find out without getting in any more trouble.

"I am afraid none of us seems to have any idea of what is happening," Liam said to the girl who'd just woken up.

The captain's-hat-wearing student started to hum softly as he cast his eyes around the room.

Heather awoke with what was probably the best and longest sleep she had in months. Assesing her surroundings, she found that she was in an auditorium. Noticing that she was in the presence of other people, she pulled out a pocket mirror to check her appearence. "Oh no, Oh geeze. I look so tardy." She mumbled as she desperatley tried to make herself as presentable as possible in front of people "Gah, my dress is all wrinkly this will not do at all" To observers however her appearence was imaculate, it just wasnt "Heather" Immaculate

Alann was the last one to wake up. He woke up calmly before looking around, "Err...Hello." He greeted as he stood up. "What are we waiting for?" He asked as he glanced over at the last sleeping student. "Oh."

Figuring that no one else knew what was going on either, Alicia finally stood up. "So, anyone know how they got here?"

Lys twirled in a circle before stopping to look at the girl who had just spoken. "Nope," she replied with a grin. "But it would be kinda handy if anyone did, don't ya think?"

Felix shook his head.

Alann looked down and hummed. "Who was the first one awake...?" He asked.

"That'd be me." Julie replied, her eyes never leaving the stage. "Loud mouth over there can confirm it." They were all awake...but what were they waiting for. Julie looked up and noticed something she didn't catch at first. There were Security cameras all  around the auditorium.

As she went to mention them, a loud noise, like feedback from a microphone, echoed through the room.  "Attention! Attention!" A high pitched voice sounded throughout the theatre. It was something that didn't sound human. It sounded joyful, and yet it gave the opposite feeling. Alann felt sick to his stomach when he heard it, made him dizzy as if the very sound was making him sick. "Hello? Hellooooo? Is this thing on? Testing one...two... testing." After a brief moment of silence, it continued at a lower volume, "Ah! Much better. Ahem. Attention students! New highschool hopefuls! This is your new principal speaking! Welcome to your new school!"

Alann let out a sigh of relief, "I guess we were all just worried for nothing. We'll just have to get used to the voice, yeah?" He gave everyone a big grin.

"You're all gathered in the Auditorium as planned, yes? Your principal, that's me, will be meeting you in their shortly! In the meantime, why don't you introduce yourselves? Tell them as much as you want! Your name, your talent, your hometown, your favorite food, your favorite book, which one of you you would eat first in a life or death situation; you know, all the important stuff!"

Alann chuckled. "This guy is nuts..." Julie muttered to herself. "If we must...Let's get it over with.

(OOC: The yellow voice who we totally don't know is actually hinting something here. In the introductions you can reveal as much or as little as you'd like. Want to make a fake name? Go ahead. Want to tell them your talent is something different? Be my guest! But remember if they find out that you were lying, you might be in a bit of trouble down the line. From this point onward I will be using OOC to ask for information regarding your character(s) for PMs and also will be giving hints and tutorials. Have fun digging shallow graves for fictitious characters!)

"Oh, oh, I'll go first," Lys said, excitedly. "My name is Alyssandra but everyone calls me Lys. I'm a fashion model, which is super cool because I get to wear super kawaii clothes all the time. I love animal crackers but I can't eat too many of them or I'll get fat and won't be able to work any more so I have to work out after I eat them."

Felix looked at Lys in amazement, How could one person possibly talk so much. He decided to stay quiet until some of the others had introduced themselves.

Leit felt calmer after the mechanically-filtered voice stopped, and one of the girls in the room spoke. He walked up, still a few steps off from the cluster of people. "Hello, Lys," his voice was hollow like his cheeks. He smiled a little, "You seem pretty, but if all you eat is animal crackers, well, I'd have to say you certainly wouldn't be my first pick to cannibalize." He thought of himself as joking, and took the small opportunity to take a tentative glance around at the other faces in the room.

"Well, I hope it won't come to that," Lys said. "I mean, it's a school right, they have to feed us, right?"

Alex continued to observe the surroundings and contemplate what's going on, as Chris listened to the conversation.

"There better be a kitchen at this school, I did come here to practice cooking." Alicia threatened. "Name's Alicia, I'm a chef."

Lys seemed friendly, or at least talkative enough that Nadine decided to introduce herself. "Nice to meetcha, My name's Nadine." She grabbed Lys's hand with both of hers and shook it.

Lys grinned at Nadine. "Your hair is super amazing! It's kawaii, I love it," she saidbefore pulling her braid around to the front of her so Nadine could look at it. "All I have is blonde, I wish I had cute hair like you."

"Thanks, it's been a while since I accidentally caught it on fire. Yours is really pretty though." Nadine smiled.

Alicia grimaced at all that hair, it would be such a nightmare in the kitchen.
